How much money do they generate? Are there other options, like user donations? |

The Google Ads don't generate much revenue. Google keeps most of the money. Based on current traffic we are only going to see around $3,000 to $4,000/year. To put this in perspective our health insurance bill will be around $8,000 - $10,000 this year. Google ands have the advantage of being readily available and easy to deploy. They also provide good feedback as to what works and what doesn't. We are going to be focusing on local advertisers who we can work with directly. This cuts out the middleman and has the potential to bring in a lot more revenue. I don't really want to charge for Larryville.com, but we are talking about adding some premium services that people could pay for if they wanted to. This is still in the early stages, however, one thing that stands out is that most people come to Larryville.com for the swapmeet. |
