I was checking out some of the rain barrel sites for options and saw this.

I haven't tried them but I've heard about growing plants in a similar way. You can probably find them elsewhere cheaper.

I have used those disks to start plants before & they work pretty darn well. I have seen the bags of loose mix at the gardens center, but never used it. I will say that seeds seem to germinate quicker with the disks than with potting soil. I just set the ---- in the bottom of a small pot put, seeds on the disk& soak it. Then every couple days soak it again. Whatever is in the mix seems to hold alot of water which I guess is why the seeds sprout so quickly. |
