Post subject:  Wisteria, bougainvillea...

I'm looking for a pretty, flower bearing vine to trail along my front porch. Not terribly interested in honeysuckle, as it attracts wasps.

Two questions:

1. Does wisteria attract wasps?

2. Can wisteria and/or bougainvillea grow here?

Wisteria grows well here. Does need heavy support.
Bougainvillea must be inside or in hothouse. It's not hardy here.
At least the one I know about is not.
What about Clematis?

Post subject:  I vote for clematis

While they are beautiful, unless planted in a spot they really like, wisteria may take many years before blooming. Some never bloom. I vote for clematis. There are many different varieties with alot of different colors to choose from. You didn't say if this was a sunny or shady spot. I think everyone assumed you were talking about a sunny spot. If it's shady, you might consider a Dutchman's Pipe. They are old fashioned and would give you alot of quick converage. The blooms would be a conversation piece.

It's my front porch, which faces west, but it gets dappled sun due to lots of trees. There is some direct sun about an hour-two hours a day.
