Sedums work really well as ground covers, just make sure you get fast growers. Lots of different ones for both sun and shade.

I use chamelion in my yard but it can get out of hand if you don't cut it back about once every 2 or 3 weeks.

Also vinca is good and oh what's the other one, it's like vinca, the leaves are more diamond shaped, though. I can't remember the name, I'm sure someone out there knows what I'm talking about, hopefully! If I saw it, I'd remember it.

How big of a slope? You could plant daylillies, coneflowers, carl forester
grasses.I have a grass like ribbon grass but it takes some shade. It
spreads well. Aguga is a low grower that spreads well.So many ideas, So
much work.

How about buffalo grass? Seldom, if ever, needs mowing. Since it is a native grass, no need to water once established.
The following web site will explain in detail how to establish a buffalo grass turf.

I'm big on using native plant material. Once established you can almost forget about them, if planted in the right location.

I remembered what it was - it's euwanamous - I probably spelled it wrong but it's good for ground cover as well.

I have done Landscaping for several years and been working Landscaping for KU for 10yrs. I would say crown vech,it's a ground cover and it will hold all soil into place and is a great ground cover,It loves the sun.

Got any good ideas for areas that don't get much sun?

English Ivy grows well for me on a very steep slope, looks nice and does great in some places that gets full sun and others that get no sun at all. Ajuga is low growing spreads rapidly also but has pretty lavender flower spikes in early spring. Ajuga can become very invasive and hard to remove though.
