I dont know the real name of this dish. When my mom copied it from my Aunt Trisha she just wrote Good - Trisha so thats what we always called it. When I owned Fat Man's Restaurant we used to make it and the customers loved it. Its sort of like a shortbread or cobbler. Real fast and easy to make.

Oven @ 350 d.

3/4 stick of butter - place in a 9x13 pan and melt in the oven.
Remove as soon as its melted.

Mix together
1 c sugar
1 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c milk
Pour on top of the butter and add 1 large can of sliced peaches - juice and all. Bake for 30 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Was hanging out @ Dorothy's last night & she made this. Truely, it was heaven in a pan! She said it was one of the easiest things she has every made.

I always thought it was very easy to make as well. It is good - if I make it and my adult son is around he can just about eat the whole pan!

I agree. My family really enjoyed this dessert.
I do have one question. Is it supposed to brown on top? I wasn't sure, so last night I left it in the oven an extra 10 minutes thinking it would brown. It didn't. Just wondering if maybe I did something wrong.
It's still excellent. I especially enjoy how quick and easy it is to make.

I have only had it turn brown a few times so I would say no. You just want to make sure the batter is cooked enough so its not gooey. I would imagine you could use any canned fruit as long as there was enough liquid. Pears might be nice.

I also made this for a work event and it went over very well (even though it wasn't warm... I'm sure it would be better warm and with the ice cream!)
