Maybe we can put some canning recipes on here.

I have the original Heinz Sweet pickle recipe. At least that is what my Great-Grandmother called it. It was the only sweet pickle that I would eat. I love dill pickles. I also have a great pickled bell Pepper recipe.

Does anyone know how to usea pressure canner. I got a new canner 2 xmas's ago. I had planned on having my mom come up the first time I used it. She was killed in a car accident January 2006. So if anyone know where I can get a lesson or two on pressure canning I would appreciate it.

thanks kelli

I'd love to see the pickled Green Pepper recipe. I've never had them but they sound really good!

Can you post the pickled bell pepper recipe?

Also, I had pickled asparagus once years ago. If anyone has a recipe for that can they post it as well?

Don't be scared of the pressure cooker.Do you have the book, just read
that.I had a old one with a pressure weight on top. Being around my
Mom canning for so long you know the sound of the pst..pst.. noise it
would make, not to fast but just consistant.Just be careful and read your
book. If not usually your local county extension helps

Turncheryl, thanks for the advice. I think I have a pretty good concept of what to do, so I will give it a try.

My Grandfather died last night so I will be out of town for a few days, I will post the recipes I have when I get back to town.

My condolences for you and your family. Don't worry about recipes now. Concentrate on being with your family.
