I don't really watch this show except to occasionally see what Evangeline is up to but; how does the fat guy stay fat?

The Dharma Initiative makes periodic food drops to the island. The fat guy (Hurley) is usually one of the first to get to these drops. The food is hi-calorie, hi-protein, hi-saturated fats and guaranteed to put pounds on anyone who eats it.

The other survivors eat mangos and bananas. Hurley eats Reeses and Ho-Ho's....

If the DI knows where to drop Ho-Hos, how can they be "Lost"?

 I always wondered about that too! Someone in my family watches that show, so I catch bits and pieces of it, but it doesn't make sense, even when avid watchers try to explain it... Oh well...
