:yay: Last night I couldn't pull up the video or audio posted by Voyeur or talkinyet, but today they both came up! Some good stuff! I wonder why some of these come up immediately, some later - and some not at all... Hmmm... I had never heard talkinyet's song, interesting, quirky enough to be fun! I am glad people keep adding to this thread! :howdy:

It's in the movie "Yes Man", done by a fictitious band fronted by Zooey Deschanel. I wondered what they were saying...I didn't know what a 'keytar' was until googling. Haven't seen the movie yet but I like some of the songs (and Zooey).

Here's a glimpse of the band doing another fun song in the movie:

Wow! Hadn't thought about Jimmie Spherris for a long time! That was really smooth, easy, I am glad you found it to post! I am liking Munchhausen by Proxy now! I hope :shock: this one posts, the link came up so long! It is "Lather" by Jefferson Airplane, performing it on the old Smothers Brothers show! Oh, and rock on with the Led Zeplin kids! Radcliff camera put up some Zeplin stuff on page 1 of this!

I hope it works, I love this song, and Gracie Slick is so *WOW* - she is probably the only person that could pull off "Lather"!
It will come up - I just tried up, just remember - scroll up grasshopper! :grin:

You got me going......I love Lather, by the Jefferson Airplane. Saw them perform 3 times.
Just watched the PBS Mark Twain Tribute, and they had this one. This is not the one Ben King performed, but an original!

I think the genre thing came about the time they recorded Nights In White Satin - they were experimenting a bit and were then labeled progressive rock or some such nonsense.

You are probably right, sort of like calling "Bread" rock music, soft rock perhaps?
Love Nights in White Satin though! Thanks for the reminder!

Every now and then Cindy Lauper does some pretty good stuff, the best of it isn't on you tube! (Like Universal Soldier). This one is nice and calm though.

Looking around lately, I have thought of this song so many times. Is it rough economic times that can cause shame - hence loneliness and isolation? I see forlorn people downtown etc, it is sad. I cannot imagine their sadness when they are alone.

The text of O Fortuna (translated) - Carmina Burana

O Fortune,
like the moon
Stands constantly changing,
ever waxing
or waning;
hateful life
now oppresses
and then soothes
as fancy takes it;
poverty
and power
it melts them like ice.

Fate - monstrous
and empty,
you whirling wheel,
stand malevolent,
well-being is vain
and always fades to nothing,
shadowed
and veiled
you plague me too;
now through the game
I bring my bare back
to your villainy.

Fate, in health
and virtue,
is against me
driven on
and weighted down,
always enslaved.
So at this hour
without delay
pluck the vibrating strings;
since Fate
strikes down the strong man,
everyone weep with me!

This dreary weather this morning started making me think of a fun 80's song! I prefer Nena in German, although I think Cyndi Lauper did a version in English!
