What are some of your pet peeves??

One of mine is something that I actually have heard quite often in Lawrence...
When people add an "s" to company names. For example:
Walmarts or Hallmarks. Drives me nuts!!

...What about... "internets"?

...or... "the google"?

People who eat with their mouths open and make loud smacking noises with their food and/or lick their fingers making the same noises. Like nails on chalkboard with me.

When you put on your blinker to change lanes knowing you have plenty of time and room, and then the person behind you in the lane you're changing to for some unknown reason cannot resist the urge to speed up.

I'll second that.

Sorry, I was hurrying to the red light.

The older I get the more peeves I have. Heres a list. Partial of course because I don't have all day.

People who drag their feet or slap their shoes as they walk.
Gum chewers who smack, you know who you are. BAN GUM NOW
Family members who put the bread on the counter 1 foot away from the bread designated place.
DMV workers who give license to idiots.
Workers who suck, you know who you are.
People who don't agree with me.
Saggin.
Waitresses who don't know what "ditto" means.
Inlaws

Hear! Hear! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Actually - GUM - is my biggest pet peeve. I cannot stand to see people chew it; I cannot stand the smell of it; and I certainly cannot stand to see it!!
My children think I am the meanest mom in the world because I don't allow them to chew gum.

Sheshapes is on a roll here! Although I initially thought grammar was the thing that irked me the most (I really do wish people could improve their grammar), however, sheshapes tops the list with people that chew and gnaw on food/candy/gum etc/with their mouthes wide open, it is disgusting and nauseating! Geez, somehow I had gotten lucky enough to forget about that sickening habit so many people have! I would say I needed to "get out more" for dinner, but seeing this just reminds me of why I like to cook and have my family all eat at home! If this is a contest, Sheshapes just won! (Gwad, the fingers too... It's just too much! :gaah:)

I just hate it when the waitress who doesn't know what the word "ditto" means is chewing gum!!....or the sales clerk etc.....

AAHHHH you all are so evil about chewing gum. I seriously am addicted to gum lol. It's so bad that I went in for dental work yesterday morning and by yesterday afternoon I already was chewing gum again. I know SAD SAD SAD lol.

I agree, people who eat with their mouth open is anoying.

Im ok with people who chew gum, as long as their not smacking it and chewing with their mouth open. I know some people chew gum to focus, some chew gum to take their mind off food and loose weight, and some chew gum to quit smoking.

My biggest pet peeve is willful stupidity - ignorance.

Next would be chewing tobacco...eeeeewwwwww......

Then, Bible thumpers.

Followed by Republicans in general....

I hate it when I eat a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup and the bottom gets peeled off because it sticks to the brown paper wrapper. Then I have to scrape it off with my teeth in order to not feel taken advantage of.

I don't know if it is a pet peeve by definition but,my sister-in-law carefully and lovingly prepares a relish tray on family occasions and serves it up with a smile and good times are had by all. But,she includes Green Onions in the assortment by clipping off the green and throwing them away and serving the bulbs. :gaah:

Having my arrival and departure announced whenever I eat at Ci-Ci's.

After thinking about it one of my biggest pet peeves would be anyone who decides that text messaging while driving is perfectly acceptable. I just want to yell, flip them the bird, then steal their cell phone and run over it.

My biggest pet peeve is people who stop to turn. Oh, and people who sit at a left turn signal for 20 seconds and then go when the light turns yellow. THERE ARE PEOPLE BEHIND YOU!

waitresses eating off your plate before it gets to you is a huge one of mine. i used to work at a family restaurant here in town a while back and they eat fries and rings off your plate before it gets to you..... those who want a list of eateries that do that pm me.
Bible thumpers are the worst.. or any religion who shoves their views down their throat not only that but the ones who come door to door interrupting my family time.
oh and not to mention the old man who had his blinker on from kasold to new hampshire he prolly had it on longer but i had to go to sunflower so i couldn't tell.
people who try to one up others about their kids

I can't stand it when things are spelled wrong just to be cute or to get your attention (i.e. "lite", "nite", substituting K for C). It's obnoxious enough in advertising, but I despise it in kids stuff! Ignorance is fun!

I can concur with you all about bible-thumping, and bigotry. I especially love it when people use Christ to preach hate. It's very confusing...

Oh, and people grabbing their cards before I'm finished dealing gets my dander up, my siblings laugh at me when I growl.

abbynormal - I agree, isn't that what spell check is for? I sometimes will put "atleast" as one word, and I know it isn't, but those that completely boggle a word make me crazy.

My newest and biggest is people who post their kids in front of Wal-Mart to hit you up for money, right at the front door. All the organizations. GET OUT OF THE @#$%^&* DOORWAY. If I feel like buying your crap I'll do so unless you bother me.

And to be fair, the guys "giving away" free newspapers.
Heres my scenario===Would you like a free Jworld/KC Star? I say sure, pick it up and start to walk away. He says I need your name. I say then you are false advertising. It's not free If I can't just walk away with it. He says "-------". I leave smiling.

- People who stop in a roundabout to let people IN.

- People who say "It's a Mute Point". Moot may be a funny looking word but it does exist and should be used appropriately. Ranks right up there with "Wal-Marts" for me.

people who pronounce the state name as "illiNOISE"

people who can't seem to learn the difference between "then" and "than"; it used to be that i'd see it in blogs, on message boards, etc-but i've occasionally read the misuse in newspaper articles!!!! :gaah:

just. can't. take. it.
